Mission Statement
The mission of the Maryville Housing Authority is to provide a quality living environment for the qualified families of this community that is affordable and safe while promoting opportunities for economic development and family self-sufficiency without discrimination.
Chartered through the state of Tennessee in 1961, the Maryville Housing Authority is a non-profit agency governed by a six-member Board of Commissioners who the City Mayor of Maryville appoints. The day-to-day operations are managed by the executive director and a staff of 23.
Julie Sharpe
Executive Director
A native of Blount County, Executive Director Julie Sharpe has worked nearly 20 years with the Maryville Housing Authority. Julie is a certified Professional in Occupancy for Multifamily and Public Housing and received certification through Rutgers Unviserty for Executive Directors. She is taking classes to prepare for the certification exam for Certified Management Executives through NAHRO. She is the President of Maryville Towers and Maryville Housing
Development Corporation.
Julie has two children and four grandchildren who live in Blount County as well. During her free time, you can find Julie with her husband hiking or biking in the mountains and cheering on the Braves and the Vols. “I take great pride in the privilege I have been given to serve Blount County. As Executive Director, I will ensure the Authority provides decent, safe, affordable housing within the community. Over the next few years, and with the assistance of the MHA Board of Directors, we hope to increase affordable housing within our community.”

Bonita Morris-Schatz
Chief Financial Officer
Originally from Alabama, Bonita moved to Maryville in 2016 to accept the Chief Financial Officer position with Maryville Housing Authority. Bonita worked previously as a fee accountant with Scott Accounting and Computer Services from 2006-2009 and was the Director of Finance/Administration for Athens Housing Authority from 2009-2016. Today, Bonita draws from her 16+ years of experience to oversee the financial management and reporting of all MHA programs. She ensures compliance with state and federal regulations while providing oversight of accounting, budgeting, capital fund grants, internal controls, year-end financials and all other financial activities. She is Secretary for Maryville Towers and Maryville Housing Development Corporation.
Bonita lives in Lenoir City with her husband and their long-haired dachshund Sophie. She is very proud of her blended family of five children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends watching Alabama football, relaxing on the lake, hiking the Smoky Mountains, reading, and traveling.

Cecilia Blair
Housing Operations Manager
With more than a decade of service working with the Maryville Housing Authority, Cecilia Blair has worked in various roles before taking on the responsibilities of Housing Operations Manager. She is Vice-President of Maryville Towers and Maryville Housing Development Corporation
Cecilia, a California native, began her career with MHA working in the maintenance department before transitioning to the property manager role at Maryville Towers. Over the years, she advanced to different positions that gave her the integral tools needed to be successful as the Housing Operations Manager. She holds a certification as a Professional in Occupancy in Multifamily and Public Housing.
When she’s not working, she and her husband of 17 years enjoy spending time at the lake with family, and she recently started making wreaths and seasonal decorations.
